After 200MP, Samsung now wants to make a 576MP camera

Samsung has just introduced a 200MP camera sensor first called Isocell HP1.
While we are waiting to see the launch of the first smartphone that offers a 200MP camera, Samsung is said to be reported on the 576MP camera sensor.
The cellular brand has used us with a 108MP camera through binning pixel technology.
Samsung further enhances this technology for ISOCELL 200MP HP1 sensors and now calls it Chameleoncell.
However, it still has to be seen how Samsung really developed a 576MP camera.
As for the launch date, Samsung SVP & Automotive Sensor Head HaChang Lee gave a presentation at Summit Semi Europe 2021 and on one of the slides where he talked about the camera sensor road map, mentioned 576MP in 2025, according to the report by Gizchina.
In other words, Samsung plans to make a 576MP camera sensor in 2025.
Interestingly, the slide show subtly hints that after 2021, 108MP can be a standard resolution for most smartphones.
.
Speaking of the technology used in the 200MP ISOCELL HP1 image sensor, there is a new pixel binning technology called Chameleoncell.
It has three pixel layouts: layout two by two, four per four or full pixels depends on the surrounding light.
If you click on a photo in a 200MP resolution, the size of each pixel is reduced to 0.64μm.
This might be ideal for clicking photos in bright conditions.
In a low environment, HP1 turns into a 12.5MP image sensor with 2.56μm large pixels by combining 16 neighboring pixels.
The sensor can also click photos in 50MP on a pixel size 1.28μm.
Isocell HP1 can take 8K videos at 30 frames-per-seconds (FPS) with a minimum loss in the field of view.
HP1 combines the four neighboring pixels to bring a resolution to 50MP or 8.192 x 6,144 to retrieve 8K videos (7,680 x 4,320) without the need to cut or reduce full image resolution.
