After 21 years, the other NMC Billboard income

Nagpur: After separating the potential income from advertisers for 21 years long, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is ready to explore illegal stockpiling, identify new sites to install billboards and revise the offset value.
For this, the civic body is in the final stage appoint a private agent to conduct a survey.
Commissioner of the City of Radhakrishnan B and Deputy Commissioner Milind Meshram has prepared a plan to increase income from advertising, which has been a little into recent years.
Even though the advertising stockpiling gained excellence lately, NMC’s revenue was declining.
In accordance with NMC data, its income was RS5.76 Crore in 2011-12 and increased to RS5.98 Crore in 2011-12 and further to RS7.12 Crore in 2013-14.
However, it began to decline and was RS6.52 Crore in 2014-15 followed by RS5.22 Crore in 2015-16, RS5.08 Crore in 2016-17, RS6.49 Crore in 2017-18, RS5.12 Crore in 2018- 19 and RS4.85 Crore in 2019-20.
The NMC has conducted a last survey in 2000.
Many have changed since then and such methods of advertising have gained popularity, but the civil body ignores income generation modes for reasons known by officials that cause severe financial losses.
Meshram told TOI, “The process of expression (EOI) has been completed and private institutions have been selected.
Proposal requests (RFP) have also floated.
Agency must complete the survey within four months after ordering a job.” Meshram added, “the private body will be given List of existing hoarding from NMC and the private sector.
Agencies will study the possibility of expanding existing hoarding in addition to identifying new sites and also suggest what needs to be done to increase revenue from them.
“The agency will also exercise on the offset value and tender from all hoarding, he said , Under this plan, the NMC will bring all the advertising work on the online platform, he said, adding, “Agency will provide dimensions, a separate stockpiling angle of their geography.
With this, the Civic body will be able to get all information about every stockpiling with just one click.
“The project highlight will be revised in the offset value.
NMC has published a tender for stockpiling for the past 11 years based on the offset value successfully in 2000.
Although the city spread in the area of 222 square kilometers, NMC only has 151 accumulation of advertising at the crossroads of traffic, along the main road, 2,786 kiosks on street lights and 550 banner stands.
Revenue from this is less than RS5 Crore per year, which is considered very lacking.
Radhakrishnan said NMC revenue would increase from this project.
Under the same project, the Civic body also plans to end a long legal battle waiting with several private institutions.
It also tends to help increase income.
In short * NMC identified the site for stockpiling and working with offset values in 2000 * The Civil Agency lieves stockpiling for the past 11 years according to the value in 2000 * this whole year, the number of hoarding does not increase * NMC has now started the process to appoint the body to conduct a survey Survey surveys will explore the options to increase income from existing stockpiles, identifying new sites, exercising revised offset values and find out illegal hoarding * NMC also plans to end a long legal battle with several private institutions.
