PANAJI: The day after AAP promises free goans pilgrimage if the party forms the government, CM Pramod Sawant on Friday announces a free trip to famous temples in the state for senior citizens from December 1 to 19 this week, AAP National Conveser and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has promised a free pilgrimage to Goans to Ayodhya, Shirdi, Velanni and Ajmer Sharif if parties form a government in the state.
Sawant said that most of the goans had not visited Goa temples.
“We have many temples in the state and people from outside the country come to Goa and visit these temples.
We celebrate the 60th year of Goa’s liberation, and I think that it is important for people from Goa above 60 must do Goa Darshan, and the Social Welfare Department will launch a scheme for temple visits from December 1, “Sawant said.
The minister’s chairman said that the scheme would be carried out through a deputy collector, and senior citizens had to register their names before deputy collector and ride the Kadamba bus.
Sawant said that senior citizens must submit their voter’s Aadhaar and ID cards to take advantage of the scheme.
“If you take a bus in Mapapa, you will be taken to Canacona and after visiting different temples throughout the day, the Social Welfare Department will make settings to drop you at your door at night,” he said.
Sawant also said that Goa was blessed with beautiful temples, and surrounding areas were also pure.
He said that people had to get the opportunity to experience a cave culture by visiting Ravindra Bhavan among other places.
Meanwhile, the minister’s chairman said that the corporation of the development of the cave infrastructure would float the bidder that invited a tender to prepare the master plan for Mapapa.
“Before the code of ethics came into force, we will take the master’s work plan to carry out systemic development,” he said.
