Nagpur: A man in his 50s attached to the teak tree branch for about three hours to avoid being swept away by a strong current from the Nand River before the Nagpur Regency Police and local divers save him on Tuesday.
The man, identified as Chinmay Biswas from Umred in Nagpur Regency.
He got a problem after ignoring the warning from the police not to cross the small bridge in the river whose water level rose after heavy rains and opened the NAND reservoir gate and shedeshwar dam.
It was studied, Biswas went to Pipla Village in Nagpur Regency for some work in his bicycle on Tuesday morning.
He was warned by the police about bandobast assignments while returning around noon.
After waiting for some time, Biswas tried to cross the bridge on foot when the police went to the other side to remove people from where the flood water quickly entered.
When crossing the bridge, river water brings it.
Biswas was on the verge of sinking when he managed to take a tree branch.
With the water level up and trees rocked hard, Biswas began to shout for help.
Because he became alert, the Assistant Inspector of the Pankaj Waghode, was responsible for the defendary police station, rushed to the place with his team.
Waghode said he immediately asked the Dam engineers and reservoir to close the gate.
“Another, the tree will be submerged or the branch will break up,” Waghode said.
Waghode said the first challenge was reaching the place.

Waghode said Biswas was lowered from the tree and was pulled into a safe place before being given first aid.
“Drama continues for three hours before ending,” API said.
