Chennai: Close on the heel of a series of revenge and rowdy murder in Chennai and other parts of the country including decaping four people in Dindigul and Tirunelveli, Police Tamil Nadu arrested 450 antisocial elements in intensive allowance operations throughout the state on Thursday.

It followed the instruction of the DGP C Sylendra Babu to the officers to carry out a massive storm operation that saw the police catch active criminals.
Meanwhile, the number of people arrested in connection with the beheading P Nirmala Devi, 70, from Valluvar Nagar in Dindigul on Wednesday morning rose to eighth because five defendants gave up before Trichy Court on Friday and sent to prison.
The woman was crowned as accused of fifth in the murder of C Pasupathy Pandian, founder of ‘Devendakula Vellarlar Kootamapu’ in 2012.
During search across the state, the police questioned at least 870 history and elements of noise.
Apart from 450, 181 others were arrested because their orders were delayed.
Three comartemen weapons and 250 deadly weapons like machetes and blades were confiscated from them.
In Chennai, the police rose around 100 rowsdies including a woman.

Among the three people who were arrested on Thursday night were accused of P Ayyanar, 21, from Chembatti who was used by the duo who hacked the woman to death, P Natarajan, 45, South Zonal Secretary ‘Devendrakula Vellalar Kootamapu’, and driver Autorickshaw M Boobalam, 21 , from seevalsaragu.
On Friday, Ramesh Kumar, 23, and Sangili Karupan, 28, Tamilselvan, 22, and Alex Pandian, 18, and Muthu Mani, 23, surrendered before the justice judge – 4 in Trichy.
The police said they would move courts who were looking for custody of those who surrendered.
Dindigul police have also picked up several men to be questioned in connection with Stephen’s murder and beheading, 38, from Hanumantharayanktai on Wednesday night.
