After hiatu 5 years, the helicopter tour will continue in December

PANAJI: Five years after they are stopped, Corporation of Goa Tourism Development (GTDC) is likely to introduce a helicopter vehicle in Goa from December.
“Heli Tours from this site is expected to begin in December 2021 after all permits and agreements are in place,” said an official GTDC.
On Monday, Tourism minister Union G Kiswan Reddy inaugurated a new helipad at Old Goa, which was built at the cost of Rs 5 Crore as part of the development of the coastal circuit – I unde scheme Darshan Swadesh Darshan.
Unlike in 2016, when the GTDC first introduced a helicopter vehicle from the site in Calangute using a government owned helipad, this time, an operator would be appointed to hire an agent to carry out a vehicle and manage the site, the official said.
The old Goa site will soon be handed over to the bidder, and the tender process for this has already taken place.

was appointed to do a vehicle, but immediately had to stop the service.
The vehicle shifted to South Goa by using a helipad from a starry hotel for the rest of the season after the local Calangute resident objected to this service.
Goa Tourism did not continue the helicopter of South Goa the following season, because it found logistical practice difficult because people who bought tickets to rise to South Goa.
Since then, GTDC has been looking for a suitable place in North Goa, because it receives more footsteps.
Chairman of the Pramod Sawant Minister, who was present for the inauguration, said that the government’s owned helipad would be used for government and private purposes other than tourist destinations.
Helipad has a vacuum dewatering concrete floor above an area of ​​4,550 square meters, and a compound wall for 490m.
There will be parking facilities, reception with coffee shops, and access towers for safety.
