After India, whatsapp faced a fire privacy in the EU

New Delhi: Three days after WhatsApp has been put forward before the Delhi High Court that it will not enforce a controversial privacy policy in India until the country’s personal data protection bill passes, a US-based company on Monday against a series of complaints from European Consumer Organizations ( BEUC) and others on policy updates, which have encouraged global protests and lead multiple users to switch to telegram and rival signals.
In January, WhatsApp has introduced a privacy policy that allows it to share some data with its parent, Facebook, and other group companies.
Even though it clarifies changes will not affect the personal conversation of its users, beuc and eight members criticize policy changes and submit complaints with the European Commission and the network of European consumer authorities, claiming whatsapp unfairly suppresses new policies to accept new policies to receive new policies New to accept new policies.
“The contents of this notice, their properties, time, and recurrence provide undue pressure on users and damage the freedom of their choice.
Thus, they are violations of the EU directiveness in unfair commercial practices,” Group said in a shared statement.
“WhatsApp has failed to explain in a clear language and can be understood the nature of change …
this ambiguity amounts to violations of the UE consumer law which requires companies to use clear & transparent contracts and commercial communications,” they said.
Facebook says BEUC has a wrong problem.
“BEUC’s actions are based on misunderstandings about the objectives and update effects for our service provisions,” spokesman said.
“The update does not expand our ability to share data with Facebook, and does not affect the privacy of your message with friends or family, wherever they are in the world.
We will welcome the opportunity to explain the update to BEUC to clarify what it means for people.” Consumer groups urge European network of consumer authorities & EU data protection authorities to work together to address privacy and consumer rights issues.
