Ranchi: The separate Namaz room in the new Jharkhand assembly building triggered controversy with BJP demanding a temple in place, or at least five rooms or halls for Hanuman people to read Hanuman Chalisa.
In a order issued on September 2, the Jharkhand legislative secretariat stated that the tw 348 room number in the new building was allocated to offer Namaz.
Opposing the decision, the leader of BJP Babu Lal Marianda urged the Secretary of the Jharkhand legislature to distribute five rooms or halls to Hindus to recite Hanuman Chalisa, if MLA Muslim was given the facility.
“The democratic temple must remain as a democratic temple.
Separate space allotment in (Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha) for Namaz is wrong.
We oppose this decision,” BJP leader said.
“If Muslims can offer Namaz in a separate room, why Hindus cannot recite Hanuman Chalisa (in a separate room).
I urged the legislative Jharkhand secretary of the five rooms or halls allocated to Hanuman to read Hanuman Chalisa,” he added.
Former speaker and leader BJP CP Singh also filed similar charges and said that a temple must also be built in the assembly spot.
“I did not oppose Namaz’s room, but they also had to build a temple at the Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha.
I demanded that the Hanuman Temple be arranged there.
If the speaker agreed, we can build a temple at our own expense,” he said.
