After June, Met Dept. predicts dry July

Nagpur: While June has become a good month for areas that receive good rainfall, July may be relatively more dried, according to estimates by the meeting department.
According to the regional meteorological center (RMC), Nagpur, Central India, especially Vidarbha, is expected to receive rainfall less than normal in July – which is usually the last month of the rainy season.
“While the rainfall is estimated to be normal as a whole in this country, the region may receive a little rain – light until moderate rainfall in a small pocket.
This will continue in the first two weeks of July after that the amount of rainfall is expected to increase,” said Mohanlal Sahu , Deputy Director General of RMC, Nagpur.
Ti previously reported that Vidarbha is expected to receive normal rain and above this monsoon.
Meet officials hope this prediction will come true for the area, considering the overall rainy season.
“At present, weak monsoon flows but are expected to get active posts in the second week of July.
This region will overall accept good rain,” said Sahu.
June data shows that most of these regions receive enough rain.
The total percentage of rainfall in Vidarbha is 19% more than usual last month.
In Nagpur, it’s 34% more.
“Apart from Akola, all other districts in Vidarbha recorded almost 30% and more rainfall from usual,” said Sahu.
Rainfall in Southwest Monsun over Central India is likely to be 106% of the average period (LPA).
The Southwest Monsun of rainfall in the country is expected to be normal – 96 to 104% of LPA.
As reported by TII before, this might be the coolest in the last 10 years for Nagpur.
The highest maximum temperature recorded this time is 43.9 degrees Celsius on May 29, which is the lowest maximum temperature that has been seen by the city in the last 10 years in May.
