After losing his wife to Covid, Pune Man died of suicide

Pune: The 65-year-old Sant Tukaramnagar resident at Pimrri on Monday morning ended his life by hanging from the ceiling of his house.
A n KoKate, Pimpri police sub-inspector told Tii, “the relatively old man told us that the man was disturbed since the death of his wife because Covid-19 about two months ago.” Kokate said that the man came from Punjab.
About two months ago he and his wife had gone to the place of origin, where both were tested positive for Covid-19.
“The man recovered but his wife gave up on the virus.
He was angry since then,” said Kokate.
Kokate said that the couple did not have children.
“The man has returned to Pujri recently.
On Monday morning, he was found depending on the ceiling fan with a rope.
His relatives had noticed him and took him to the hospital.
He was declared dead by the doctors,” Kokate said.
Cases of accidental death have been registered with the Pimpri police.
