Kolkata: The number of flights departing from Kolkata Airport has touched 100 signs twice this month after a gap of almost three months, manners from the center to increase the percentage of flights in the sector and exponential in domestic business and family trips.
On July 23, 101 flights departed from Kolkata with 9,869 passengers, recorded a clean movement of 19,600 strange passengers.
This is the second time this month the number of flights departing in a day crosses 100 since April 30 when 113 flights depart from Kolkata.
On July 16, 108 flights had departed from Kolkata, carrying 11,656 passengers – a significant leap because of Eid al-Fitr the following week.
“These are good signs for the airport and the aviation industry.
We have been told that the number of flights will increase further in the coming days and we have made adequate changes to handle excess passengers.
However, maximum stress is given to sanitation and cleaning along with Social distance maintenance, “said a senior Kolkata airport official.
Earlier this month, the Ministry of Civil Aviation (Moca) increased domestic flight capacity to 65% from 50% of pre-covid time.

Capacity can be read as a capacity of 65%.
“Airline officials say that the current number is still lower than the allocated percentage by Moca and that other flights will be added for the next week.
“The allocated quota is still not used and next week, there may be any increase between 25 and 30 flights departing per day at the airport compared to this week,” airline officials said in Kolkata.
