New Delhi: The leader of the Senior Congress P Chidambaram on Wednesday claimed that after Muslims, Christians were a new target of the Hindutva Brigade, quoting the government’s refusal to renew FCRA registration for missionaries.
Chidambaram, which is a senior electoral observer from Congress for Goa, also claims that the mainstream media has discarded the story of the Ministry of Home Agreement related to Charity Missionaries (MOC) from the pages and called “sad and embarrassing”.
“The refusal of updates for the MOC is a direct attack on NGOs carrying out Yeoman services for ‘poor and wretched’ in India,” he said on Twitter.
“In the case of the MOC, it reveals bias and prejudice against Christian charitable work.
After Muslims, Christians are a new target of the Hindutva Brigade,” Chidambaram said.
After two consecutive defeats in the election of the Goa Assembly, Congress hoped to return in the state polls early next year.
