Ahmedabad: The second Gujarat City within six days has been declared by cholera affected on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Kalol Town reported five cases, pushing the collector Gandhinagar Kuldeep Arya to state under an epidemic disease acting for a period of one month, the area within a radius of 2 km of disease.
The District Health Authority has collected 38 food samples from various parts of the city which five tested positive cholera.
This disease mainly spread through water or food contamination.
District officials suspect drinking water contamination for rupture in underground civilian lane.
The engineering team has been formed to identify leakage and improve them.
On Friday last week, the Nadiad City in the Kheda district was declared by cholera.
Here also the process of identifying leaks in the drainage line is being carried out to stop contamination.
While one of the four patients detected with this disease was sent home, a six-year-old boy, a two-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy with this disease was still in observation.
They are a resident of Kanipura Bhilvas Amdavadi Bazar in Nadiad.
Close to 50 individuals who experience symptoms of diseases in the Nadiad city are treated.
