One cellular library will be charged a BMC around RS 45-50 Lakh.
Last month, in a setback to the chunks of Shiv Sena Corporators, BMC has lived a distribution of food trucks as free by Corporators.
The BMC Planning Department has issued an Arlojul directing all wards not to distribute food trucks purchased from BMC funds, quoting a lack of comprehensive policies for food trucks in the city.
With Shiv Sena Miffed in BMC porridge to stop the distribution of food trucks, Commissioner of Civic Iqbal Chahal has requested a meeting to discuss and formulate food truck policies.
E Ward BMC has now asked the planning department to improve the guidelines for the distribution of cellular libraries after the request of Shiv Sena Corporator Yashwant Jadhav, which heads the Standing Civic Committee.
Jadhav is a canporator of the constituency number 209 from byculla and Mazgaon.
Jadhav said Van Libraries will be run for poor students and those in need of social organizations.
“This is an educational initiative and I have received approval for it and even gets the provisions of the funds made officially.
This will benefit thousands of students because we will store books related to competitive exams such as UPSC and school and college curriculum.
Students can borrow books The book and it will be a library in front of their door.
Poor and need students will benefit.
Education should not be politicized by the opposition, “Jadhav said.
However, the opposition canporators have been about BMC on this latest freebie.
“Just like the distribution of food trucks, there is no policy to distribute the cellular van library.
We don’t know who will run the library and who will be a beneficiary or type of book what will be stored in this cellphone library or where they will be parked.
BMC It seems to provide free like a contribution to the powerful party, “said SP Corporator Rais Shaikh.
BJP Corporator Vinod Mishra also opposed it.
“This is just a way to provide free without any policy.
BMC says van library is for unemployed people.
Who are idle people who will make money by running the library? This is a booty of public money,” Mishra said.
