After Ramappa, Telangana Eyes UNESCO tags for more sites

Hyderabad: Supported by UNESCO World Heritage Tag for Rudreshwara (Ramappa) Temple in Muluugu Regency, the Telangana Government has decided to get sin prepared for at least half a dozen historic places in the state and get similar recognition.
This will prepare documents for the Temple of thousands of historic pillars in Warangal, Sammakka Sarakka (Tribal Festival) in Mulitu, Pillala Marri (Banyan tree aged 700 years) at Mahabubnagar, Warangal Fort, Mutyala Dhara Waterfall in Jayashankar Bhupalapally, apart from Golconda and Charminar.
“The archaeological department has been asked to come up with a list of rich history, heritage and culture.
This list will be given by Minister of K Chandrasekhar Rao to complete the name.
After the name is complete, the file preparation will begin.
A consultant will also be employed For this purpose, “said Minister of Culture and Tourism V Srinivas Goud to Ti on Saturday.
He said there were many places in the state of eligible for the status of world heritage.
After getting world recognition, the state government has decided to develop a temple and make a buffer around the Ramappa temple to protect the monument.
Because the number of tourists has begun to squeeze the Ramappa Temple, the Department of Tourism plans to build hotels in nearby places.
The minister said the main Ramappa temple was in the field of Indian Archaeological Survey (ASI), while three temples near Pakala Lake need to be developed.
The government will also see no structure that appears in the buffer zone from the main temple, he added.
“To promote tourism in Ramappa and its surroundings, the government plans to develop ‘Kakatiya Circuit’,” said Srinivas Good.
