Noida: After losing four deadlines between 2020 and October this year, the six lane 780 meters 71 Underpass sector opened in part to the public on Wednesday.
While the vehicle movement from the Wave City Center metro station towards Parthala Roundabout and Greater Noida West has begun, officials say the flow of traffic on the second side will begin post-Diwali.
Demand for occupants who are long waiting in adjacent sectors, underpass will allow a smooth trip from the city center mall to Western Noida Greater through Vikas Marg.
On Monday, the team from the Noida Authority had examined the underpass and remembering his approval for partial opening, officials said.
“We have opened one side of the sector 71 underpass on Wednesday.
During the next two days, we will monitor the flow of traffic on it and complaints, if any, regarding cutting and access points.
The second side is likely to be opened on November 5,” Mukesh Vaish , Senior manager of the Noida Authority, said, adding that the underpass would continue to be tried for the next 15 days.
Access points to the service track along the lower road, Vaish said, will be closed with Balaknath temple now.
While u-turn near the temple will remain open but modification is expected based on feedback from commuters, officially more.
Assigned on June 14, 2019, at the cost of Rs 52.58 Crore, the previous underpass has missed the December 2020 deadline due to restrictions on Covid-19 and subsequently on construction activities.
Then, the problem related to the alignment of the Metro pillar and the next permit from DMRC and Monsoon led the authority to miss further deadlines between January and October this year.
As a result of this, the construction costs also rose 6.77 crore, took the total to Rs 59.35 Crore.
Underpass has demanded a person who is waiting for people who live in sectors 51, 52, 61, 62, 70 -79, 121 and 122 which can now access them to achieve signal-free goals from the two Parthala roundabouts as well as from the 7x sector to sector 61 -63.
So far, commuters must take a detour through the high road MP2.
