After Spurt in the Covid case, IIT-HYD shifted to online class

Hyderabad: Authority at the Indian Technology Institute of Hyderabad (IIT H) announced on Wednesday that the first four segments of the semester will now be carried out in online mode after the Covid-19 case burst on campus.
So far, 136 students and staff have been tested positive for Covid-19 for the past week, the authorities said.
In the email sent to students and staff, the Institute said that the class would be carried out in online mode until March 16 a day after TOI reported how 119 students and staff were tested positive for Covid-19 for the past week.
There are six segments in one semester, with the current semester cover in the last week of April.
“Based on the current situation, the decision has been taken today that the class will be online for all 1-4 segments until March 16, 2022.
The first Bachelor is online for the first semester.
There will be no offline / physical teaching laboratories in the duration (segment 1 -4), “Read a letter from the Dean (Academic Program), IIT H.
Students, who went for a first semester break in December back to campus after New Year’s Day.
After students began to show symptoms, the Institutes shift to temporary online mode on January 7.
Online class has been extended until February 7 on Tuesday, and the following day, they extended until March 16.
The students said that those who were looking for permission to leave the campus were asked to sign NOC so that their room could be used for isolation.
“They asked NOC to use our room for isolation.
How can we sign NOC when all of our belongings are there? Why not make separate isolation facilities,” said a student.
