After the muzzle struck, Desi Bofors to go for a test fire

Nagpur: Dhanush, a 155x45mm native artillery weapon made in the Swedish Bofor line, is arranged to undergo shooting round tests to clear the way for the last deployment with full strength by the army.
The exercise must be done after an accident snout hit brakes in March this year.
This happened during the training carried out by the army with the arms that had been installed.
The muzzle brake is in front of the barrel.
During the practice, a shell crashed into the brake of the muzzle that damaged it instead of flying from the barrel.
Now referred to as a round of reliability shots, the assessment is planned towards the end of the month.
“The demand is carried out into the incident and some small changes have been made in a gun.
After this shot will be carried out in a way carried out by the army during his training.
This will be done to ensure weapons reliability,” said a source.
Weapons made at a pistol train factory in Jabalpur.
The first lot of 6 Dhanush weapons was handed over to the army in 2019 (6 weapons made one full battery).
Production continues and so far the weapons factory has sent 13 weapons with the last one sent last month.
Shortly three were expected to be sent.
The incident does not affect production orders.
However, the combustion of reliability needs to be done for full security guarantees.
“This will lead to its last deployment in various locations after that the army can apply it to operational use,” the source said.
“Changes have been made given the incident.
However, this is a small modification without changes in the main design needed,” said the source which is part of development.
The Dhanush project, which began in 2010, finally made the road to the army after a number of hiccups.
It began with a barrel incident exploding.
There are two hits the previous muzzle brake too.
However, this happens with other weapons too.
There are a number of factors for the second incident, involving weapons and ammunition.
“The problem has been removed during the process,” said the source.
Dhanush is a 155x45mm pistol, which is a higher caliber of the original bofor – 155×39 mm caliber.
It has a higher range than bofor too.
