After the RD ‘Success’ Golf Course, 2 more projects Check the Dam, GMDA Mulls More

Gurgaon: Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) now examines the feasibility of creating dams in various locations in the city after their construction at the Aravali Hill near the Golf Road, which said, significantly limiting urban floods this year.
Meanwhile, two more projects were underway at the police training center in Bhondsi and along the water pipe operated by GMDA in Bas Sakatpur-Gairatpur.
In front of Monsoon this year, the authority has developed a water body in three tributaries on the Aravali hill with a dam around them, which helped examine waterlogging on the golf path, officials said, but allowing water conservation in-situ.
Recognizing their utilities, the Chief Executive GMDA (CEO) Sudhir Rajpal, at the Core Planning Cell Meeting (BPK) earlier this week, has directed officials to see if they can build more checks in other areas.
In addition, he has directed officials to realize “all possible efforts” to use rainwater in the green belt and other similar spaces in Gurgaon.
“The direction given at the BPK meeting is to see if there is another place where this kind of size will help resolve water problems,” said a senior GMDA official who did not want to be named.
Meanwhile, Bhondsi arranged to get two dam concrete checks on March 2022.
“We have developed a water body at the police training center in Bhondsi, where water is used to flow down from the hill and create problems.
Two dam concrete checks will also be made there in March next year, in time for Monsun.
Besides that, us will give a shape and repair the body of the water along the water line of sakatpur-gairatpur, “the official said.
Apart from this, this kind of intervention is not needed anywhere else, according to GMDA.
“There is no other area on the Aravali hill or city where the creation of the check is needed.
If we identify the requirements later, we will develop more checks,” the official said.
