New York: The statue of George Floyd who was defaced in Brooklyn had been cleaned and headed for Union Square Manhattan.
The artwork was launched on a lunteenth vacation in place in Flatbush Avenue.
Five days later on June 24, it was damaged by black paint and marked by the white supremacy group logo.
But group members put on a straddly statue of cleaning it, and the locals and one of the Floyd’s brothers gathered around this week to make a separation offer ahead of the planned to move to Union Square as part of the exhibition in September.
“I heard the news about Vandalism.
I am very proud that I got word that flatbush held him back.
They really supported us, looking at the statue, looking at my brother’s spirit,” Terrence Floyd said at the meeting.
He added to reporters News: “You try to stop us, but you can’t stop us.
And we will still continue, with love.” Andrew Cohen from Confront Art, the group behind the statue, said people spend hours cleaning paint with Toothbrush and hand.
“The only method that works really, really puts elbow oil into it,” he said.
The statue will return to Monday studio for further cleaning.
There is no arrest made in vandalism.
