New Delhi: Minister of Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur said on Thursday that the investigation agency “did their work” and that there was “no (government) interference in it” by referring to income tax actions against the Dainik Bhaskar and Bharat SamaChar groups.
Speaking on the sidelines of the cabinet briefing, Thakur responded to questions about the opposition allegations that the search was intended to hamper the sound of democracy.
“People must take complete information and absence sometimes many problems arise far from the truth,” said Minister.
The Thakur statement came even when the income tax department conducted multicitan searches for Dainik Bhaskar and Bharat SamaChar, triggered criticism from journalist organizations and political leaders.
