Agitation for reopening the school instead of the temple: Min to BJP

Nagpur: Expressing concerns over anticipated third wave, the Civil Cabinet Minister Vijay Wadettiwar said the re-opening process must begin carefully to maintain greater good.
Reacting to the request of BJP to reopen the temples, Wadettiwar said the party must have at least struggling to reopen the school.
“At least agitation to reopen the school, for the academic future of our children,” Wadettiwar said.
While the statement was clearly a sarcastic swipe in BJP, Wadettiwar clarified that experts had a reservation about the reopening of the school, and it would be considered at the right time.
At present, schools in rural areas (STD VIII and so on) are open while those in the city are still closed.
On the problem of OBC reservation, Wadettiwar said thinking is being given about accommodating the people who trace their lineage outside Maharashtra.
“Because of the different spelling of the family name, people from other states find it difficult to put in the OBC list in Maharashtra.
Gawali in Maharashtra is Yadav outside, Teli in Maharashtra is a shahu elsewhere.
The same thing with Kunbi and some Others.
The delegation of these communities met me and said that in other states, they fell in the OBC category while in Maharashtra, the open category, “Wadettiwar said.
The minister assured the delegation of OBC leaders who said soon the decision would be taken on this matter.
“I told them that their proposal would be sent first to the OBC commission.
We will ask the commission to see these demands from all angles and return.
Based on their advice, the government will take the right steps,” Wadettiwar said.
Regarding political reservations for OBC, Wadettiwar said certain land realities must be taken into account.
“Until now, there was no reservation for OBC in Maharashtra.
If we can implement it, the situation in various districts will change because in some places, such as Gadchiroli, the reservation will continue to be zero.
So, we must think of all these problems before continuing,” He said.
“In fact, in our meeting all parties in Mumbai, all of these problems have been discussed.
We focus on trying to collect empirical data on OBC so we can continue with a strong footing,” Wadettiwar said.
When asked about plans to postpone polls until OBC booking was sorted, Wadettiwar said this problem also found in meeting all parties.
“The polling was due around 2022 February, so we had time to gather empirical data.
Suppose we can’t do it within that time limit, then maybe we can delay the poll for a while.
This is something that everyone agreed at the All- meeting Party, “said Wadettiwar.
