Jaipur: Rajasthan is among several countries that introduce their own bills to fight three central agricultural laws to protect the interests of farmers.
Important Commodities Bill 2020, Agreement on the guarantee of price and agricultural services Bill 2020 and farmers generate trade and trade bills 2020 – passed by Rajasthan Assembly last October.
The bill is designed to cancel or provide feasible options for farmers to the provisions of the Central Agriculture Law.
However, the country’s bill was delayed by the Governor of Kalaraj Mishra, before they went to the President for his approval.
The source said that the revocation of three controversial agricultural laws will make many provisions in this bill irrelevant but still, the state will encourage them because they have certain provisions that protect the interests of the farmers.
After the ‘Central Leader’ Congress explored the legal route to fight agricultural bills, Punjab and Rajasthan moved three bills for the same thing.
“Gehlot has encouraged Mishra to the bill being transferred to the President at almost all of his visits to the governor’s house since last October,” said a source at the Governor House.
The main provisions of the bill played by the Congress leaders are giving farmers agriculture agreements that only apply if the price of the product is equal to or greater than the price of the minimum support.
“Provision of a 3-7 year prison without a penalty if there are people or companies that harass farmers,” read the bill.
The bill invited a sharp reaction from the central government who had accused the Government of Gehlot across the cooperative federalism line.
