Muzaffarnagar: With the promise of revocation of controversial agricultural bills secured, farmers at Muzaffarnagar Up now have trained their sights to the law for the minimum support price (MSP).
The announcement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to revoke three agricultural laws have sent farmers in the celebration in the city of West Pradesh, which is also the headquarters of Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU).
BKU President Naresh Titikait and spokesman for his brother and the Rakesh Tikait workers lived in the village of Releasing Muzaffarnagar.
Magaram Balyan, a member of the local BKU, said the government announced the withdrawal of law due to pressure from farmers.
He claimed the announcement was an attempt to calm the voters before the poll.
“This law alone will not help farmers.
The government must now provide legal guarantees for MSP for plants, ensuring the availability of fertilizers, and solving other critical problems for farming,” Balyan said.
He also said the protests of farmers had firmly uniting the JAT community in their opposition to BJP.

“Except for their voluntary visits during death and meetingless meetings, BJP leaders have been banned from entering the village for more than a year now,” Balyan added.
Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) opposition said the decision to revoke the law was a big problem because it showed BJP “prostration” outside the party, which rarely happened since 2014.

The PM announcement on Friday broke the deadlock throughout the year between the government and farmers, which began last November with a massive protest on several Delhi borders.
However, BJP supporters at Muzaffardagar felt the government should not give up on protesters, which now might want to come up with more demands.
“The government should not do this (revoking agricultural laws).
This ‘Union-Wale’ will not end the protest and will continue to increase the demands and extort the government,” Sunil Kaji, a resident of Satuti in Khatauli, told by PTI.
