AHD: 84% of POPN who qualified Gets JAB 1 of Covid Vax

Ahmedabad: Covid Vaccine, is considered the only shield that is certain to the third wave of pandemic, has been given to 34.9 lakh people at Ahmedabad, revealing data by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC).
This figure amounts to almost 84% of the eligible population (18+ years) for vaccination.
According to AMC data, this city has 68 Lakh residents, where 42 lakh qualifies for covid vaccines.
Especially from the total, 13.14 lakh, or around 31.5%, has received both doses.
Data revealed that the ward in parts of Western City such as Jodhpur, Paldi, Navrangpura, Stadium and Bodakdev had more than 50% of citizens who qualified to be fully vaccinated – a much higher share than their Eastern City colleagues.
Compared to the overall state, the number for the first and second dose was higher for Ahmedabad – in Gujarat, 71.8% (3.54 crores from 4.93 crore qualified populations) had got the first jab, and 24.5% (1 , 21 crore) has been obtained both.
“About 84% of city people have received their first dose,” said Dr.
Bhavin Solanki, AMC Medical Officer.
“The nine urban health centers have reached more than their targets, because people from other regions also go there to get vaccinations.
For example, at Ballore Hall, we will not only make people from paldi but also from Vasna, Navrangpura etc.
with Thus, the numbers for paldi will be higher.
“Interestingly, three lowest coverage areas were also from the parts of the West City.
Chandkheda has the lowest coverage of the first dose of 29.8%, followed by 30.9% in VASNA, and 47.2% in Mactampura.
The remaining seven fell in the East City – Behrampura (33%), Jamalpur (33.6%), Gomtipur (39.8%), Vastral (40.9%), Amraiwadi (56.4%) and Indrapuri (60, 2%).
The city of Ahmedabad, along with letters, is generally above the daily vaccination figure for the country with an average of 45,000 to 55,000 daily vaccinations.
The State Health Department has provided a boost to vaccination – especially which includes the age group of 18-44 years for the first dose – since mid-August with 5 lakh-plus vaccinations for the country.
A senior AMC officer said the requirements for the 84-day gap between doses were reasons for lower amounts for the second dose, and many people who had completed a period of 84 days did not advance to get their second dose.
“Some companies make their employees vaccinated in areas such as Thaltej, Bodakdev, Navrangpura, etc.
Apart from their domicile,” said a senior official.
“We also found a reverse correlation between vaccination and socio-economic profiles / consciousness.”
