Ahmedabad: Chairperson of the Revenue Committee (AMC) Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, Vakil Jainac, has written to Commissioner of the City of Mukesh Kumar on Saturday demanding all illegal non-vegetarian food outlets.
Vakil said “illegal non-vegetarian food joints near educational institutions, religious places must be removed because people who pass through problems because of the foul odor from such joints”.
Vakil claims that illegally slaughtered animal meat is being sold in public places.
“The Civic body must take action against such outlets with the provisions of GPMC actions such as Section 331 (2), 334, 376 (6), 382 (b) and 335,” the letter said.
Section 331 (2) said, “No one will build a private market for sales, or for the purpose of exposing sales, animals intended for human food, or every human food article or livestock or food items for livestock or goods For livestock or having to build or maintain private slaughterhouses except with sanctions of commissioners who will be guided in giving sanctions with corporate decisions.

These provisions prohibit private markets and private cutting houses, imports of livestock without licensing commissioners and giving strength to the commissioners to expel any non-vegetarian outlets and deductions that operate without commissioner permission.
On September 30, The Civic Body announced a trip against illegal ‘non-vegetarian’ food carts throughout the city that operated without valent city food sellers licenses.
The ‘non-vegetarian’ food carts include those who sell egg preparations.
