Ahmedabad: Various hospitals in the city have recorded a total of 1,820 dengue cases during January to 9 October this year, alarming 321% of the 432 cases registered throughout the city.
Dengue cases in the city in the January period last year stood in 359.
The hospital registered 914 chikungunya cases in the city in the same period with 923 cases throughout last year.
The Chikungunya case in the January period last year established at 587.
Data from the Health Office Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) showed a case of malaria in the city between January and October 9 reached 769, up 34% from 571 in the same period last year.
The city hospital in the same period recorded 73 cases of Malaria Falciparum, up 46% from 50 cases registered in the same period last year.
Health officials said that the team had collected 33,327 blood samples until 9 October this year against 87,815 samples in October last year.
Water disease also enrolled an increase in this period, showing AMC numbers.
A total of 1,622 types of typhus were registered in January to 9 October period of 1,131 cases in the first 10 months of last year.
A civilian official said that the solid waste management department has approved a tender for cleaning 37 lakes where mosquito maintenance might be.
The lake will be cleared including Lake Vastrapur in Bodakdev, Lake Thaltej, Lake Gota and Lake near the RC Technical Polytechnic in Gota, Lake Malav in Lake Vasanana and Chandola in Danilimda.
