Ahmedabad: The patient was trapped in a long queue outside the government hospital in Ahmedabad on Wednesday as the state government and a resident doctor who strike failed to reach an agreement.
When a strike by the doctor still enters the second service on Wednesday, the OPD service (patient department) was hit with more than 3,000 doctors who absstained from assignments.
Medicos of BJ Medical College sat in Dharna on Tuesday night after a senior faculty member threatened them with a terrible action if they did not call their strike.
The Association of Junior Doctors (JDA) at BJ Medical College accused that the Head of the Ministry of Medicine, Dr.
Kamlesh Upadhyay, asked students to write that they ended their attacks.
“He threatened to make us fail the exam if we did not listen to his advice,” according to a member of JDA.
“As a result, we sat in Dharna before him on Tuesday night and complained to the authorities.” The doctors said that the delay in counseling for Neet-PG has caused a lack of doctors in civil hospitals and has increased their workload.
Apart from students from six medical colleges managed by the government in Gujarat, several resident doctors from medical colleges managed by the community have joined the strike and moved away from the OPD task.
