Ahmedabad: The day after the Toi reported about a sanitation worker made to enter the Manhole Hole in the Sector – 3B of the Capital of the State, Police Gandhinagar on Friday filed a complaint against the supervisor of the Private Mumbai company.
The supervisor has been charged to endanger the life of workers.
The worker is at risk at Manhole which is located 2 km from the Gujarat DGP office, 4 km from the State Assembly, and 7 km from the house of the minister of the chairman.
Deputy Inspector of Capital Development Scheme, Krunal Patel, filed a complaint against Parthil Lathia, Khilaria Infra Private Limited of Lelapur, New Mumbai.
“The company has been given a contract to maintain a whole drainage system of Gandhinagar six months ago,” said Fire told Police Sector-7 Gandhinagar.
FIR added: “On Thursday, a sewer near Navratri Chowk in Sector-3B choked and Lathia made a worker, identified as Amarsingh Vasava, a migrant worker from Bharuch, entering the drainage hole.” Patel said in FIR that the supervisor had crossed the rules associated with cleaning drainage.
Police Sector-7 Gandhinagar posted Lathia under the IPC section 336 (Act for Life).
Also called is part of the prohibition of employment as a manual scavenger and their rehabilitation measures, 2013, and caste scheduled to act (prevention of cruelty).
The source at the Gandhinagar police said that the police would ask whether the supervisor or colleague from the company had made other workers enter the got hole.
In 2021, five examples of workers made to enter the hole were reported.
Four came from Ahmedabad, including Bopal, and one of Gandhinagar Sector-7.
