Ahmedabad: Navrangpura residents jumped to Canal Narmada and ended his suspected life after five men, who took his shop, refused to empty them and threatened to kill him if he insisted.
The deceased was identified as Sanjay Sharma, who runs a hardware store on the Rakhial and has an industrial warehouse with eight shops in it.
His wife Sunita Sharma, a resident of Elegance Society in Navrangpura, filed a complaint in this case with the police on Thursday.
He told the police that her husband had left home on August 11 without telling anyone.
When he went to communicate, the family began to ask him and found a note in his account book.
In that note, he has written that residents of Rakhial Ramesh Shah, Sandip Shah, Amit Patel together with residents of Odhav Babu Chawla, Bharat Chawla and Danadur Resident Faizan Shaikh continued to harass it.
Quoting a suicide note, Sunita told the police, “Sanjay’s father has given shops to five accused of rent.
However, they refused to empty the place when Sanjay asked them to leave.
They also threatened to kill my husband if he pressed them for Empty the shops.
“On August 12, Sharma Chandrakan’s younger brother received a call from Kathlal police, who told him that Sanjay had jumped to Canal Narmada near the village of Antrooil in Kapadwanj Taluka from the Kheda district.
The car and cellphone are found near the canal.
Then, the police restored his body from the canal and sent it for post-mortem.
Based on his complaint, Navrangpura police filed complaints to commit suicide against five men.
