Ahmedabad: For Amdavadis, Chai is not a drink, it is a feeling.
And while this city is known for its kitli culture, the desire to enjoy some time drinking tea during the curfew will definitely land you in trouble.
Three people from various parts of the city study this lesson in a difficult way when they were arrested by police while roaming around the city in their search to find ‘cha’ at night.
A 21-year-old student from Ghatlodia was looking for tea near Shastrinagar when he was arrested by a police team who patrolled around 1,50 morning on Monday.
“When we stopped him and asked him about the emergency that forced him to move when the curfew was enacted, young people said that he was addicted to tea and had been looking for Kiti since midnight,” said Cemara submitted by the Ghatlodia police.
The police said, “For seeking tea is not a valid reason at that time, he was ordered on charges of violations of notice of night hours along with the action of the epidemic and disaster management measures.” In the second case, a satellite resident and resident of Ranip was found looking for Kitli near the intersection of Shastrinagar.
“The two men were in their early thirties.
When we asked them why they were out at 12:30 a.m.
on Monday, they said that they were friends and were looking for a place to drink tea and pamper themselves in gossip,” police said.
The FIR mentioned that the two men despite knowing that the curfew applied in the city had come out and endangered their lives and the lives of others by behaving neglect.
They were ordered to violate night curfew norms along with the Law of Disaster Management and Epidemic Law.
The three men were released on a guarantee on Monday.
