AHD: Professional tax transportation close to the pre-covid level

Ahmedabad: Covid-19 hit Ahmedabad very hard, but when the situation becomes difficult, Amdavadis goes.
When cases began to fall, they opened their shops and factories, and a proven recovery sign in the increase in professional taxes collected this year.
This has increased by 33% of taxes collected in 2020 and almost equivalent to pre-pandemic levels.
AMC officials said that the professional tax collected between April 1 and July 19 in 2019 was Rs 54.63 Crore, which fell by Rs 13.46 Crore to Rs 41.17 Crore in the same period in 2020.
However, this year was collected Between April 1 and July 15 has passed the 54-crore RS sign and stood at RS 54.54 Crore – only RS 9 Lakh less than 2019 Pre-Pandemic Collection.
Increased highest tax collection in the western part of the city mainly because trade continued faster there.
However, when a percentage increase arose, the highest growth was noted in industrial estates in the eastern part of the city.
“After Coronavirus closes the city, the industry closes and workers who work in industrial estates.
This results in a loss of work,” officials said.
Data analysis of individual zones revealed that the North Zone witnessed a decrease of 31% by 2020 in professional tax revenues.
But this year, the same zone registered a 45% increase compared to 2020.
This zone consisted mostly of regions such as Naroda Road, Sardarnagar, Noblenagar, Kaubernagar, Meghaninagar, Asarwa, Krishnanagar, Thakkarnagar, and Saraspur inhabited by small companies, Garage, wholesalers, plastic products and units that pamper metal work.
Officials said that the southern zone, which included the belt of the Nikol, Vastral, and Odhav industry, witnessed a decline in professional tax revenue in 2020.
However, registered more than 60% this year’s increase compared to LAAST.
The numbers from April to 19 July this year reflects the second wave where the industry and even the office functions with limited staff, said an AMC official.
“Analysis reveals that small traders and offices are closed now back to the track and have even remembered a relieved employee in 2020,” an official said.
Gujarat Levies RS 200 Professional tax on a monthly salary that produces Rs 12,000 and above.
“The increase in the amount of payment of RS 200 shows that employee salaries for whom the tax is paid more than Rs 12,000.
Also, the increase in the amount is substantial due to the company’s restart and individual offices,” officials said.
Traders demanded neglect in professional taxes from the government for 2020 but his decision was still delayed, AMC official said.
However, so far there is no advanced and paying their arrears for 2020.
Professional tax and industrial experts state that compliance with payment of professional tax has increased because of which collection shows a surge.
Explained this, Patik Patwari, Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce and Industrial Gujarat said, “Because of the Pandemic, Compliance is affected.
Many people cannot pay their professional tax contributions.
Many companies and companies, whose contributions are delayed high, have been presented notice because of this compliance increase.
This has caused an increase in tax collection.
“He added,” Post-pandemic, many shops and offices moved to smaller places to cut costs.
Every time someone enrolled a new property, all professional tax contributions must be cleaned.
It can also be a reason for increasing compliance .
“Some tax professionals accuse that the cost of the ceiling is still collected by the authority of the citizenship instead of going with a slab when it comes to professional tax collection, therefore, tax collection can show a decline.
Last year, most professional tax compliance was not fulfilled because of a pandemic.
