Ahmedabad: Ahmedabad-based startup, Wehear, which makes hearing aids and hearing care devices, which recently raised funds worth Rs 1.25 Crore in the pre-series funding round.
With a new round, startup, founded by Kanishka Patel, is now valued at Rs 5 Crore.
Two investors, a company based in Faridabad, Victora Group (invested Rs 1 Crore) together with Startup Startup and Entrepreneurship Gujarat (Gusec – with RS 25 Lakh funds) has invested in startup.
Startup, incubated in Gusec, plans to be aggressive in its marketing campaign with fresh funds to help increase sales.
“At present, we are present at least 35 cities including the main Tier-I cities and several Tier-II cities as well.
These include Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Letters, Rajkot, Bengaluru, Gurgaon, Mumbai and Tamil Nadu, among others.
, We plan to expand to other Indian cities too, “said Patel.
“Apart from that, we also saw established in the US and Canada this month,” he said further.
Startup, which is a recipient of the Atal Innovation Medal in 2020, is all set to collaborate with multibrand electronic retail chains to experience products.
Wehear was founded in 2017, when Patel was on the verge of completing his graduation in the field of electronic engineering from LD Engineering College in Ahmedabad.
“I started researching at the initial stage and I needed two years to develop products.
We first developed hearing care devices – which are earphones that operate using bone conduction technology.
This means the sound to bypass a person’s physical ear and cause less damage.

Hearing assistance developed by Wehear works on similar principles.
“Sound waves are sent to the brain in the form of a signal after passing physical ears and instead send signals to the brain, thus helping people who experience hearing loss for easier.
In addition, the translation of the language available through cellular applications also allows them to hear the language Foreign, because the application has a translation option available for around 72 languages, “said Patel.
At present, its products are being reduced by partnering with several leading e-commerce platforms and also by partnering with government institutions and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
Recently start-up products have been selected and certified by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government Gujarat.
A committee is formed to evaluate the product, which will be available on the government platform.
