AHMEDABAD: Three men on a scooter chased a 45-year-old Sarkhej resident, slashed his hand with a knife, and robbed him of valuables worth Rs 54,000 near Karnavati Club on S G Road in the wee hours of Tuesday.
Dashrath Thakor filed a complaint with Anandnagar police in this regard on Wednesday.
He told cops that he was on his way to Jamalpur to buy vegetables and had stopped at a tea stall near the club around 4.30 am on Tuesday.
After having tea, he took the route towards Prernatirth Derasar when he realized that three men on a scooter were chasing him.
The three overtook him and forced him to stop his scooter.
They allegedly caught hold of Thakor and robbed him of his gold chain worth Rs 45,000 and Rs 9,000 in cash.
Thakor tried to resist but they slashed his hand and fled.
He rushed to Sola Civil hospital where a medico-legal case was filed.
Later, Anandnagar police registered a case of theft but did not add sections of causing hurt and robbery.
