Agra: The train service was hit by a busy Delhi-Howrah route for more than eight hours on Thursday after a member of the Aheria community squatted on track at Uttar Pradesh, Hathras Junction to demand their caste inclusion in the list of their backup categories.
Agitation was called late at night after Chandra Pal Singh (Aheriya), the President of the Community, issued a statement of videos from Lucknow that they had been promised by the chairman of the Yogi Adityanath Minister for December 18.
“We will continue protest on December 21.
At Solna Station in Aligarh, if CM does not meet us on the date given,” he said.
The track was cleaned at 8pm, confirmed Deepak Kumar, Dig (Attigarh range).
Speaking with Toi, South Public Relations officials Railway North Central (NCR), Amit Malviya, said 14 remote trains, including Bhuvneshwar Rajdhani, Howrah Rajdhani, Seaclah Rajdhani, Dibrugarh Rajdhani, Arunachal Express and Lucknow-Gomti SF Express, was postponed.
There is no transfer route available until night.
Protesters occupy the railroad track at Junction Hathras at 11 am.
They put on a red flag on the track and shouted the slogan, “Aheriya Zindabad”.
A Protester woman said political leaders promised to meet their demands to be included in the list that was reserved while looking for sound but did not pay attention after the election.
“We do not get a quota certificate because our caste is not included in the list approved by the government,” he said.
Ramesh Ranjan, Hathras District Judge, told TII that talks were among the leaders of the Aheria community and senior officials in Lucknow.
He said when their caste was not included in the list of categories ordered by the Indian government, they could not take advantage of the quota benefits.
Additional police forces from neighboring districts were called at night and were deployed in Hathras to maintain the legal and order situation in the city.
Said Atheria means “hunters” because it is their traditional work.
They were said to have become soldiers in the Army Maharana Pratap.
After his defeat, they scattered and took agriculture in the 1920s, when forced to release hunting.
Now, many of them have taken to sell flowers.
