Ahmedabad: AMC has said that from April 2018 to December 2021, 523km road network has reappeared, patch-working, or repaired.
A report by additional city engineers, AMC, to the Chair of the Road and Building Committee said that 171km stretching the road was repaired between April 2020 and March 2021; During the previous non-covid year, 174km was repaired.
During the Covid year, 377 stretch damaged roads; 361 Stretch road has been damaged in 2019-20.
The Department of Road and Building AMC has said that until July 2022, at all 25,315 parts of the road with a total of 6,244 km will or will be explored by the road opening agency or utility company.
This includes city utility suppliers, states, federal, semi-government, and personal.
The initial period for excavation was September 2018.
The official road of the Ahmedabad was 2,580 km.
Also in that period, agents will be boring or will explore 3 holes lakh to city streets for the installation of an underground crossing for the civic cable network and cable network.
Individual utility companies are to explore roads starting from 10.46 km to 3,274 km.
To put things in perspective, AMC will pay Rs 1,385 per square meter to repair a hole that has a minimum depth of 75mm.
AMC has spent around Rs 176 Crore in 2021 on road repairs alone, which includes 25,623 holes, 4,333 of which are in the western part of the city.
“After the High Court intervened in 2017 and 2018, 314 the stretch of road was found to have been damaged,” said a member of the Senior AMC battle committee.
