KABUL: The leader of the Afghan National Resistance Front (NRF) Ahmad Massoud was safe and would immediately make a statement, NRF spokesman Ali Nazary said on Monday.
“My leader and brother Ahmad Massoud was safe and would give a message to our people soon!” Nazary tweeted.
It came for hours after NRF denied the Taliban claim that Panjshir, the last fortress of the country in this country had been arrested.
NRF said that resistance strength was present in all strategic positions throughout the valley to continue the battle.
They then convinced the Afghan community that the struggle against the Taliban and their partner would continue.
However, the Twitter account from which information was distributed, was not verified.
“The Taliban claim to occupy Panjshir is wrong.
The NRF troops are present in all strategic positions throughout the valley to continue fighting.
We convince the Afghans that the struggle against the Taliban & their partners will continue until justice & freedom of winning,” NRF tweeted.
Previously, the Taliban claimed the arrest of Panjshir Afghan Province.
After falling Kabul on August 15, Panjshir only had a Holdout Defiant where resistance forces were led by Ahmad Masoud, the son of the former Afghan guerrilla commander Ahmad Shah Massoud, struggled against the Taliban.
Both parties claim to have the advantage in Panjshir but no one can produce conclusive evidence to prove it.
