Ahmedabad: The appearance of the two leopards in just seven months left the residents of Sanathal Village, 5 km from Shela, afraid.
On Thursday, the villagers told the Ministry of Forestry about the incident and also showed them the Pug sign.
Confirming this, The Foresters say that the leopard, which is believed to be a sub-adult, has hunted down nilgai calves.
It is believed that the leopard, as before, has deviated into the area through a ravine beside Sabarmati.
“We have established eight cages on the outskirts of the Sanathal Village and monitoring the site where leopards made murder.
A team of more than 20 forest personnel has been deployed to continue watching,” said Rakkira Begum, Deputy Forest Conservator, Ahmedabad.
The Deputy Forest Conservator said that the leopard disappeared into the bushes in the nearest field.
“After that, the PUG sign cannot be traced when it rains down in the rain,” he said.
Officials have sent photos of Pug marks to determine the age of leopards, which they believe about 3 years.
The source in the forestry department claimed that they did not rule out the possibility of the second leopard also because there seemed to be a difference in PUG shows found at the location.
HS Singh, a member of the Indian National Council for wildlife, said, “The higher the frequency of leopard sightings in the nearest cities are a clear sign of increasing their population in the holy place.
It can also be caused by reducing the population of ungulates such as deer and naughty .
“A senior wildlife expert claimed,” Leopard – 1,395 reported in 2016 – less played.
The population is higher and one of its indications is a higher frequency with the leopard who looks now.
“Two wildlife sightings incidents – One of the hyenas in December last year and another leopard who was killed in an accident on the road at the Sanathal intersection on January 31 this year – has been reported.
However, in the January incident, the department failed to find out where the animal came.
