Ahmedabad: The death of a teenager Rudra Sharma, 15, in an accident on the road has destroyed the authorities of their sleep and they have decided to launch a long journey outside of school and college to underage driver.
Sharma, a resident of Shreenath’s apartment in the Nava Vadaaj area in the city, was beaten from behind by the AMTS bus on Friday afternoon outside the gate of the apartment when he returned to his home in his father’s two-wheeled vehicle.
In his complaint at the B-Division police station, his father Rajendra Sharma stated that his son had taken two-wheeled vehicles without his knowledge and went to school.
Commissioner with Police Mayk Singh said that traffic police and RTO would make encouragement to act against teenagers who drove vehicles without a valid license.
Drive will be taken especially outside the school where the violation is maximal.
“We will evaluate cases in place and register cases under the motor vehicle law.” According to RTO officials, the latest revision of motorized vehicle law has explained that “where violations have been carried out by adolescents, teenage guards or motorized vehicle owners will be considered guilty and will do it responsible for continuing and punished accordingly.” Officers said that the action must be Taken against vehicle owners even if it is without his knowledge.
Officers said that the provisions were very clear and therefore parents could not avoid their obligations by saying that they did not realize it.
In addition, the law clearly states that RTO will not issue a SIM until the defaulter reaches the age of 25, he said.
A traffic expert said that even though there was an amendment in ACT, not a single parent had been ordered for giving his vehicle to his son or daughter of a teenager.
“Usually, parents who provide vehicles to their children to avoid pain drop them in school or college class.
Unless the case is registered with the vehicle owner, the drive like that will not mean,” he said.
