Ahmedabad: Cancer patients hang themselves in Ambawadi

Ahmedabad: Fed up physical and stress pain, 52-year-old cancer patients hung himself at Ambawadi’s house on Saturday night.
The victim of Bakulchandra Sharma, a resident of Parth Apartments near the Central Mall, has suffered lymphoma for the past two years, police officials said.
He was last chatting with his wife Parul in their living room around 5:30 a.m.
before he locked himself in the bathroom attached in their room.
When he didn’t return even after 30 minutes, Parul walked to their room and knocked on the bathroom door, but did not receive a response.
Worried, he called Sharma’s brother who lived nearby and also seek help from neighbors.
Meanwhile, community security guards rushed to the victim’s house with hammer and other tools and opened the door just to find Sharma depending on the ceiling fan.
They cut Dupatta on his neck and put the body on the bed.
The 108 ambulance is called; However, the doctor stated he died.
Police officers said the victim was under severe depression after the disease.
He could not bear the pain and decided to take extreme steps, said an officer with the Gujarat University Police Station.
Lymphoma is a cancer lymphatic system battle disease which includes lymph nodes, spleen, thymus glands and bone marrow.
