Ahmedabad: Police Commissioner Sanjay Srivastava on Thursday said that everyone who participated in Rath Yatra on July 12 must follow the Covid guidelines and maintain social distance.
To limit the movement and avoid crowding, the city police have decided to impose curfew in the area under the jurisdiction of eight police pumps: Gaekwad Haveli, Shaherkotda, Karanj, Kalupur, Madhavpura, Owned, Khadia and Shahpur.
The curfew will apply between 7am and 2 noon on July 12 in the area below this police station.
These areas will be battered so that no one can enter.
The worshipers have been asked to see a glimpse of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balbhadra and Dewi Subhadra from their television planes and to avoid coming to the Rath Yatra route.
There will be a three-layer bandobast on the route, with around 20,000 police personnel regardless of the homemaker and paramilitary personnel deployed.
