Ahmedabad: The fire occurred in the Torrent Power substation in Makarba on Tuesday night.
It is controlled in about half an hour.
No one was reportedly injured in the incident.
Inayat Shaikh, division firefighters, South West Zone Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) said they received a call of around 6.15pm regarding fire in the power station.
“The fire broke out in a high voltage transformer.
Within five minutes, six fire extinguisher installed dry powder trolley was deployed and it took about 30 minutes to get a controlled fire,” Shaikh said.
He added that fire officials left the place only after the fire went out and the transformer affected by tested.
The statement from Torrent said the fire broke out in the new Pirana-Prahladnagar line in Prahladnagar (Makarba) the substation switch.
“There is no power disturbance to consumers because we divert the power supply to another path while the fire is being fulfilled,” said a spokesman for the company.
