Ahmedabad: Love Heritage? You will get a police cage

Ahmedabad: Manish Brahmbhatt, 49, and Nishit Singapurwala, 38, will not imagine that their crying to protect the city’s heritage will lead to their detention in the crime branch lock.
Crimes committed by both: Making public appeal that is harmless to save the world heritage icon in Khadia.
Both have demanded action against illegal construction and demolition of heritage homes.
“August 8 commemorates the beginning of the Quit India and Khadia movements play a central role during the struggle for freedom,” Brahmbhatt said.
“So we thought it was the right time to protest the demolition of illegal efficacy that bear the value of the World Heritage.
The structure is being destroyed to build a new commercial building.” Brahmbhatt added: “At the interest of thousands of families in the walled city.
But the terrible time is at Shop for us.
It feels as if the police tried to spread fear.
“Brahmbhatt and Singapurwala have appealed to people in a message WhatsApp to install a black flag in their home to protest the fast commercialization of their territory.
Pols are under the zone of the World Heritage Site (WHS).
On Saturday at 5:30 p.m., Circle Police Inspector P D Solanki called on the two men to the police station to identify the message, Brahmbhatt said.
“As soon as we said that we had circulated a message, we were asked to sit in a room,” said Singapurwala.
“We were arrested at 9:30 a.m.
and then driven to the locking of the crime in Gaekwad Haveli.” The two men were arrested as precautions under the Criminal Code 151.
At 11:30 a.m., Singapurwala complained about health problems in locking.
Until early in the morning, the police were named Ambulance 108 to take Singapurwala to Asarwa Civil Hospital.
Both were released on a guarantee on Sunday afternoon.
“I didn’t even tell my family about my arrest until Saturday night,” Singapurwala said.
The Solanki Inspector said: “The black flag symbolizes protests and if seen in public, the demonstrators need to tell the police about their actions.” Over the past two years, both of them have raised awareness about saving inheritance in Khadia, Pol Bangla, and Dhal Ni Pol.
They also lead the group, ‘Shresht Khadia Abhiyan’, which spread awareness about the transfer of development rights.
They consistently attract AMC to stop demolition of inheritance properties in their area.
“We can’t even put up a black flag in our house to protest illegal demolition,” Brahmbhatt said.
“Inaction of the Civic body affects us.”
