Ahmedabad Man gets a cheater to restore the 10K RS

Ahmedabad: In the case of an interesting ‘Revenge Con’, Cybercrooks who cheated an activist from Rs 10,000 left to ask for His mercy after the latter approached the police and got their bank account.
They also returned their money to cheat him to pay after promising him to loan Rs 1 lakh.
Kaleem Siddiqui, a resident of Bubiaagar, who led the agitation of the citizenship amendment law (CAA) and NRC (national list of residents) was approached by someone who posed as a representative of a financial company on December 24, 2020 with a loan offer.
After many rounds of negotiations with various representatives, Sidiqui signed up for RS 1 Lakh loan against the insurance policy where he was required to pay Rs 10,000 as EMI.
On January 2, he received an email from the company, told him that the loan was approved.
Siddiqui even paid Rs 10,000 as the first monthly installment to the company through the REAL-TIME gross settlement system (RTGS).
The next day, another representative called him, said that the number of loans had increased from Rs 1 Lakh to Rs 1.17 lakh which he had to pay an additional Rs 8,300.
The person did not offer clarification to Siddiqui and told him that only bankers would understand the intricacies of the loan system.
Realizing he was cheated, he reported fraud to the city police on January 5 who worked on the Siddiqui application, they freezed the company’s account operated from the Pune branch of a private bank.
When representatives of financial companies learned about the investigation of them, they approached Siddiqui on January 7.
“They asked if I had filed a complaint.
I told them that my relatives worked with the bank had freezed their account.
They began to beg for me, asking complaints to be withdrawn.
They promised to return RS 5,000 to me if I didn’t start legal action, “Siddiqui said.
After criminals returned Rs 5,000, Siddiqui assured them that he would ask his relatives to withdraw their account if they returned the RS 5,000 left.
They were indeed asked and deposited the RS 5,000 to the Siddiqui account on January 9, “They returned all my money and approached again, asked me to withdraw their account.
But this time, I told them that I had filed a complaint to the cyberspower police against them , “said Siddiqui.
“They accused me of betraying their beliefs and I told them that they were people who betrayed others.
Realizing I will not succumb, they begin to beg for mercy,” he added.
Police officials said that such cybercrooks could only be nailed if fraud victims approached the police without delay.
