Ahmedabad: Men Ignore Wives, Settles in Dubai

Ahmedabad: A 43-year-old woman from Jamalpur accused her husband to leave her and fled to Dubai.
He alleged that he went to Dubai in 2014 and never returned to India.
In his complaint with Gaekwad Haveli police, the woman said that he was married to a man from Karanj in 2004 according to his family’s wishes.
“As soon as it was married, my husband began to control me by saying that I could not speak with neighbors.
He used to make me confined at home and didn’t even allow me to visit my parents,” he told the police.
He alleged that her husband often beat him and also looking for a dowry from him.
“He once took Rs 1.5 lakh from my parents, then the other 5 Lakh Rs with the pretext of repairing our house and buying a car,” he said.
“In 2014, he planned to go to Dubai to work.
When I asked him to take me together, he struggled and left me.
Since then, he has never talked to me and hasn’t returned to India,” he said.
After consulting with family members and elders of the community, he approached the police and filed a complaint against her husband for domestic violence and caused injured.
