Ahmedabad: Police Sola on Wednesday arrested a 25-year-old woman from Sarkhej to kidnap a newborn girl from the civilian hospital in 2.
September, Nagma Ghori, allegedly kidnapped a baby two days because she had no children.
His own, said police officer.
The Sola police team led by Inspector J P Jadeja and 70 police checked the recording of around 500 CCTV cameras on a 15 km stretch from Sola to Sarkhej Crossroads and broke the kasing.
Ghori separated from her husband about six years ago and wanted a child.
He decided to kidnap a newborn child about a year ago.
On September 1, at around 3 pm, he went to the civil Sola hospital and watched 40 women and their newborn children there.
He lived there until he kidnapped a newborn baby around 2:30 a.m.
“When he saw a newborn baby and his mother slept, he was getting closer to picking up the child calmly to make sure he would not start crying and quickly walked out of the pregnant ward and then the hospital,” said a police officer.
Ghori walked about 6 km while holding a baby and tried to praise the autorickshaw.
Because he didn’t get a pedicab, he began to mark people going on two-wheeled vehicles.
A man on the scooter stopped seeing him and he told him that a newborn baby was his son and he tried to save himself from his husband who tried to beat him.
The man advised him to go to the police, but he insisted that he drove him to the autorickshaw so he could go to his place.
He agreed to appeal and took him near the junction, where he found an autorickshaw and took him until Sarkhej Crossroads.
There, he changed the rickshaw and then went to his house in Sarkhej.
After exploring the defendant through CCTV footage, the police team lived in Sarkhej for about three days until they arrested Ghori with a baby.
