Ahmedabad: To ensure that people who suffer from heart stops in the community can be saved, city police coordinate with ICARE (Heart stop resuscitation for everyone), a non-profit organization, has begun to provide CPR training to its staff.
In the first session of CPR 8,000 strange police training was trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Icare has provided training a Haryana Police Training Academy and is conducting similar training for Mumbai police.
Dr.
Kinjal Goyal, a partner Icare and health psychologist, who organized CPR training for police Ahmedabad said this training was delivered on a 90-minute batch, followed by a question and answer session.
Goyal said Icare began by three doctors in Mumbai, one of them Dr Yash Lokhandwala, a leading cardiologist and the President of the Indian heart rhythm community.
“We in Icare provide free training and our motto is that there is no death in the community that should be due to a heart attack.
If the police are trained, they can help them in distress immediately and ensure that the person survived until he was attended by a medical professional.” Goyal Said all police personnel in the city will be trained for the next week.
He said the Ahmedabad police were on time and almost no absence.
