AHMEDABAD: The unexpected bouts of rain accompanied by lightning and thunder came as a welcome relief from the excruciating humidity and warmth experienced by people throughout the day Friday.
Rain dropped perceptibly in western elements while eastern areas of the city stayed relatively dry.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) officials stated that the rain isn’t because of start of monsoon, and rather consequence of a flow over eastcentral sea.

Manorama Mohanty, manager of IMD Gujarat, stated that the rain and thundershowers aren’t because of monsoon.
“It is premonsoon action for a flow over east-central Arabian Sea has resulted in the rain in a number of areas of Gujarat.
The trough in the flow is expanding to parts of south and central Gujarat,” she explained, adding that town and lots of different areas can expect mild to moderate showers on Saturday.
