Ahmedabad: On Thursday, residents of around 40 houses in Sarkhej Village in the South-West Zona Municipal, complained that for the past month, the water supply kissed the state liquor.
As proof, one of the residents collected cans filled with cloudy water from the city’s city water supply and sent it to the officials of the visiting water supply department.
Senior Official Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) in the South West Zone confirmed the development and said that City Amc engineers were told.
“An officer from the Department of Engineering visited occupants immediately after the night supply and other visits were scheduled in the morning to collect water samples from the location,” AMC official said.
Local residents have curved old that some residences around it are known to make state liquor and then empty their waste into their contaminated waterways.
