Ahmedabad: The parents of a 12-year-old child approached a city-based psychiatrist when they were worried about his welfare.
The child, besides spending around four hours at school, used to spend about four to five hours on social media and games.
It has begun to affect his academic performance, when the child complains that he cannot remember anything taught in class even on the same day.
While the pandemic had its social impact, he also left the psychological impact on all age groups, said city-based experts.
They say that regardless of clear problems arising because it is limited to the house, some children bear the burden of mourning because of a pandemic or must see family members hospitalized.
The second wave is infected with more children than the first wave.
Thus, many also experience isolation related to infection.

Nehal Shah, a city-based psychiatrist, said that in some cases, the impact of more acute pandemics among children.
“The need for hours is to eliminate myths about pandemics, teach the right safety practices, and ensure that the child is not alienated,” he said.
“Many spend so much time with their family for the first time – which also caused some problems.” Experts say that in some cases, parents carry children because they will explore the internet for unwanted content with the pretext of learning.

Deepti Bhatt, a city-based psychiatrist, said that while boys a little more in percentage compared to girls when it comes to such cases, the girls were found to spend more time on social media and worrying about people like that.
“With almost no other way to socialize, teenagers try to redeem them with their virtual personality,” said a child psychologist based in the city.
At the government hospital for mental health, experts recorded cases of violence where a 16-year-old teenager beat his parents when they did not buy a new data package.
His father had lost his job, but the teenager would not hear it.
Experts advise him.
